Hello, I'm Kang Ning Yong 杨康宁

I’m a Malaysian pianist and piano instructor in Oxford, Hamilton, West Chester, and Liberty townships, Ohio (USA). Teaching piano is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, and I plan to continue doing it for the rest of my life. I started this blog in 2023.     My Bio

    Ms. Kang Ning Yong, based in Ohio, United States, holds positions as an adjunct professor at Northern Kentucky University and Miami University, where she teaches Aural Skills and Beginning Piano for Non-Majors, respectively. With a deep commitment to early childhood music education and piano teaching, Kang Ning is certified in the Music for Young Children program and the Royal Conservatory of Music Certificate program. She has also been the music director at Seven Mile Presbyterian Church in Ohio since 2018. Her dedication to piano pedagogy and performance was recognized in 2021 when she received the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Teacher Enrichment Grant, allowing her to further her piano skills under Prof. Siok Lian Tan at Miami University.Originally from Malaysia, Kang Ning earned a graduate assistantship and completed her Master's Degree in Music Performance at Miami University under the tutelage of Prof. Siok Lian Tan. During her graduate studies, she served as a teaching assistant and the piano accompanist for the Miami University Chamber Singers. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Universiti Putra Malaysia, where she studied under Dr. Loo Fung Chiat, Ms. Geneviene Wong, and Ms. Carolyn Lo. In 2017, she achieved Trinity’s Licentiate (LTCL) music performance diploma with distinction. Kang Ning is actively involved in performing and collaborating with musicians, showcasing her passion for music beyond teaching. As a member of MTNA, she continuously seeks to enhance her musical expertise and share her performance through social media.
